The Etsy Market produced by District Rebel

Attention: the application has closed but this information is still available for participating artists to reference.

The Etsy Market: Washington, D.C.

Organized by District Rebel / Circuit Breaker Labs / CREST

District Rebel and CREST (the Capitol Region Etsy Street Team) are once again partnering with Etsy, this time to produce the Etsy Market. It is a virtual market taking place on a platform called Splash on Saturday November 7, 2020. Market hours are tentatively 11-4.

There is no fee to apply. Fee to participate is $15 and will be used solely for advertising the event (and your weblinks/social media handles) via social media. We will also be sending press releases in an initiative to gain local news attention (we received great press and were on the news last time!) The event also comes with support from Etsy, and the specific details surrounding that will be released in time (we will share what we know when Etsy releases details, but that support can come in the form of press, social media, Etsy articles, and so on)

The platform includes three photos of your work with links to your Etsy shop. The event will feature a main stage with live streaming content. We will schedule time slots to participating exhibitors to create a day-long schedule. You can participate in an interview, show off your studio, show your products, do a demonstration, or whatever you’d like. The stream is also accompanied by a chat feature. All the information you need to get set up will be supplied when Etsy provides it.

You must have an active Etsy shop with at least 12 listings and must not be on vacation mode from now until November 7. We will lightly jury to ensure a good experience for buyers: caps will be placed on each category to make sure buyers aren't overwhelmed with a single category (like jewelry). We will accept applicants on a rolling basis due to the very short timeline involved. If the application link is closed, that means we are full and no longer accepting more vendors.

An invoice for the fee will be sent upon acceptance to participate in the event. Mid-October, we will reach out to coordinate the livestream schedule. You are not required to participate in the livestream but it is strongly encouraged. There isn't a pro-rated fee for not participating in the livestream. If you need to cancel your participation, you must inform us ASAP. Refunds will NOT be issued after October 24 for cancellations for any reason.
