Blast off into creativity with our unique space-themed art-making activity! Give broken electronics a new life by transforming discarded technology into an out-of-this-world collage inspired by planets, stars, rockets, galaxies, and the wonders of space.

Explore a variety of electronic components and use your imagination to create your own one-of-a-kind cosmic artwork. No two collages will be alike!

Why This Activity is Out of This World:

Creative Exploration: Use a variety of materials like circuit boards, wires, capacitors, keyboard pieces, and other reclaimed electronics to build your space-themed design.

Space-Inspired Art: Create planets, stars, rockets, spacecraft, galaxies, or anything else you can imagine from the materials provided.

Hands-On Crafting: Experiment with shapes, textures, colors, and different materials as you bring your cosmic creation to life.

Give E-Waste a New Life: Discover how broken electronics can become unique works of art instead of ending up as waste.

Includes All Materials: We provide everything you need to create your collage from reclaimed electronics and other art materials.

Who Can Join: Open to everyone—adults and kids are welcome! Please note that due to the fine motor skills required, this activity is not recommended for kids under 6.

Registration: No advance registration is necessary, but signing up makes it easy to add the event to your calendar.

Getting Here & What to Expect:
All events take place inside the Craft Lab at Because Science, our retail shop located at 1759 Columbia Rd NW, Washington, DC (across from the Line Hotel in Adams Morgan).

 Look for the squiggly rainbow mural! Enter Because Science and walk to the back of the store (between the biology and anatomy sections) to find the entrance to the Craft Lab
 Metro: We're a 10-minute walk from the Woodley Park (red line) or Columbia Heights (green line) Metro stations.
 Bus: The D72, D74, C51, and C53 buses stop nearby.
 Parking: Street parking is mostly limited to 30 minutes—walking, biking, or ride share is recommended. There is a parking garage located at 2421 18th St NW, about a block away.
