"To be the first in your family to go to college is a privilege that takes courage, sacrifice, and perseverance. The courage to be a trailblazer, the sacrifice of no longer being able to relate to what you’ve always known, and the perseverance to believe that you belong.
 
These past 3 weeks as a counselor for @uofsc’s first engineering camp for first-generation students has been an amazing experience. I can’t wait to see what this special group of students will accomplish and I know I’ll be a better professor one day because of them⁣"
