"I'm often asked how I got into nature and why I started @backyard_basecamp
It was moments like these! Sharing discoveries with Kori and Kai near our home that started it all.
As time went on, I realized these connections are greater than me, greater than just our family, and that everyone should have these opportunities.
I think growing up Muslim prepared me to be comfortable with being different. However then, and now, the isolation of being the only one who looked me consistently weighed on me.
Providing a safe space for those who are "othered" is my life's work, and I cannot find the words to describe how watching my dream actualize truly feels.
