Join us for Science Fair Fridays, a free outdoor STEM experience designed for curious kids ages 6–12 who love to explore, experiment, and discover. Our Craft Lab Techs bring science to life through exciting demonstrations and hands-on activities that make STEM concepts fun, engaging, and easy to understand.

What to Expect

Hands-On STEM Experiments

Young scientists will have the opportunity to participate in exciting STEM experiments and activities designed to spark curiosity and creativity.

Learn Your Way

Kids can choose to conduct experiments independently or work with assistance from our Craft Lab Techs, making this event welcoming for all experience levels.

New Discoveries Every Week

Each Friday features different STEM topics, experiments, and demonstrations, so there's always something new to learn and explore.

Registration: Not required, but signing up helps us plan and makes it easy to add the event to your calendar.

Getting Here & What to Expect:
All events take place inside the Craft Lab at Because Science, our retail shop located at 1759 Columbia Rd NW, Washington, DC (across from the Line Hotel in Adams Morgan).

 Look for the squiggly rainbow mural! Enter Because Science and walk to the back of the store (between the biology and anatomy sections) to find the entrance to the Craft Lab
 Metro: We're a 10-minute walk from the Woodley Park (red line) or Columbia Heights (green line) Metro stations.
 Bus: The D72, D74, C51, and C53 buses stop nearby.
 Parking: Street parking is mostly limited to 30 minutes—walking, biking, or ride share is recommended. There is a parking garage located at 2421 18th St NW, about a block away.
