Storytime & Science Fun at The Craft Lab!
Join us for an exciting STEM adventure featuring Libby Loves Science by Joelle Murray!
Libby and her friends are in charge of the science booth at their school fair, but there's one big problem—no one is stopping by! Through teamwork, creativity, and a little chemistry, they discover that science can be exciting, surprising, and fun for everyone.
After storytime, children who are registered for the craft workshop will become junior scientists as they complete two hands-on STEM activities! They'll create their own invisible ink to design secret messages or artwork, then make a bouncy ball while learning how molecules work and why different materials behave the way they do.

Interactive Storytime:

Storytime: Free for everyone!
STEM Craft Workshop: Paid activity ($5). Families are welcome to enjoy the free storytime and head home before the craft portion begins if they prefer.
Supervision Required: Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian throughout the event.

Getting Here & What to Expect:
All events take place inside the Craft Lab at Because Science, our retail shop located at 1759 Columbia Rd NW, Washington, DC (across from the Line Hotel in Adams Morgan).
Look for the squiggly rainbow mural! Enter Because Science and walk to the back of the store (between the biology and anatomy sections) to find the entrance to the Craft Lab
Metro: We're a 10-minute walk from the Woodley Park (red line) or Columbia Heights (green line) Metro stations.
Bus: The D72, D74, C51, and C53 buses stop nearby.
Parking: Street parking is mostly limited to 30 minutes—walking, biking, or ride share is recommended. There is a parking garage located at 2421 18th St NW, about a block away.
