Give your child an exciting introduction to the world of computers, the internet, and basic programming concepts through captivating storytelling, creative crafts, and interactive play—no screens needed! Inspired by the beloved Hello Ruby series, this workshop offers a fun and engaging environment for kids to discover how technology works, sparking their curiosity and creativity in a hands-on way.
This workshop is best for kids aged 5-6. Unlike our other hands-on activities, this is a group workshop that starts at 11am and runs the full 90 minutes. You're welcome to drop your child(ren) off for the workshop and pick them up at 12:30pm.
This workshop is led by Nina Mortazavi, a tech expert with over 11 years of experience as a researcher, software developer, and product manager. Since moving to DC in 2013, she has taught various subjects, from coding and STEM to art and language, and has volunteered with nonprofits to promote STEM education for kids. Passionate about making coding playful and engaging, Nina shares early coding resources on Instagram (@code_buzzy) and showcases her origami and Art & Language teaching.
